The pearl of the Langhe and its tower...
Walking tour to discover Barbaresco
- Technical Level: Easy/Intermediate
- Road Surface: 80% dirt - 20% asphalt
- Length: approx. 10 km
- Height difference+: approx. 350 m
- Training Level: Medium
- Departure near: Barbaresco (CN)

Among the various hiking in the Langhe that can be tackled, you cannot miss the loop between the paths of Barbaresco.
We will start from the village of Neive, a beautiful Langa village that has remained intact since the Middle Ages, and, stepping outside its walls, we immediately enter the vineyards of Nebbiolo surrounding the area.
On this walk through the vineyards, we will discover together the techniques of vine cultivation and more; the route will descend towards the valley where we will meet poplar fields (and, who knows, we might see a truffle hunter in action with his dog) and hazelnut fields, often found in the valley floors.
Climbing the hill, we finally come to the sight of the largest medieval tower in Piedmont, the one of the Barbaresco village, where a lunch break will be waiting for us in one of the many Wine Bar and we will have the opportunity to taste wine in the"Regional wine shop" inside an ancient church, before returning to Neive through some of the most beautiful paths in the Langhe.
If Barolo is the King of wines, Barbaresco can only be the Queen! Trust me, it will not disappoint your expectations...

And after the trekking in the Langhe, you cannot miss the hiking in the Monferrato! And so, here we are in the Unesco Heritage of Canelli, with this walk between the rows of Muscat, an aromatic grape variety very versatile, which can give in this area sparkling, sweet, raisin and dry wines.
Starting from the city centre, we will ascend northwards, touching the beautiful Contini Tower, an ancient lookout point overlooking the hills of Monferrato. From here you can reach an "Agriturismo" that will allow us to enjoy the typical Monferrato dishes, such as the agnolotti butter and sage. On the way back we will pass on the "Sternja", steep, cobbled downhill road, linking the upper and lower parts of the 'Sparkling city“.
Canelli is also famous for its 'Underground Cathedrals": four wonderful wine cellars that, on request, can be visited and offer incredible emotions with the thousands of bottles on display ready to be uncorked at the end of our walk in the Monferrato.
You love 'bubbles' and sweet wines in general and would like to learn more about the production methods and variants of the Muscat variety.
