Another stunning village in the northern area of the Langa del Barolo is Verduno, which with its wonderful "garden square" will surprise you with its elegance and the history of its Castle, formerly owned by King Carlo Alberto of Savoy.

Starting at the e-bike rental, this e-bike tour will explore the hills with the most technical roads in the Langhe of Barolo , the southern part.
After passing through the village of Barolo, we stay on the higher roads, passing by Monforte d'Alba, a town that, thanks to its historic centre climbing up the adjacent hill, is considered one of the 'most beautiful villages in Italy".
The presence of woods and hazelnut fields create a serpentine series of magnificent roads that lead us to the long tongue of land of Serralunga d'Alba, surrounded by a sea of rows with its sleek and majestic castle, unique in the area.
The hill descends to Fontanafredda, the ancient wine cellar of King Vittorio Emanuele II, with its beautiful park and the 'ciabot' surrounded by greenery.
For Diano d'Alba instead we'll climb up to the breathtaking 360° viewpoint, without forgetting to pass by Grinzane Cavour which, with its incredible castle and its history related to the world of wine, is considered one of the unmissable destinations in the Langa del Barolo.

Let's discover the rolling hills of Barbaresco with this easy bike tour, almost entirely on asphalt.
We start at the rental of Alba and cut straight for the hill: direction Madonna of Como, a small but pretty hamlet on the top of a ridge surrounded by vineyards.
The narrow streets of the area take us to the edge of theAlta Langa, where we will descend to Treiso, a picture-postcard village overlooking the hills of Roero. First, however, a brief stop at the "Seven Brothers Cliffs", a beautiful natural gorge surrounded by an ancient legend.
It's also a must-see stop the town of Neive, a beautiful Langa village that has remained intact since the Middle Ages, and last but not least, the area's main town, Barbaresco, which, with its huge tower, will take us back in time in a flash.
We resume our journey, we reverse course and in a light and satisfying up and down, we are once again in Alba, the 'city of 100 towers": passage in front of the huge central cathedral, ice cream stop and back to the e-bike rental, which awaits us for the next adventure.

In this beautiful area between Langhe and Monferrato, the dominant grape is definitely the Muscat, with which local wineries have been producing some of the best Italian sparkling wines.
Castiglione Tinella, still located in the Langhe, is an example of this, with its municipal area almost entirely covered in vineyards, and is no exception also Calosso, a village with which we can immerge ourselves in the Unesco Heritage Core Zones with its incredible landscapes.
In the centre we find the 'Contini Tower', an ancient lookout point overlooking the city of Canelli, which can be crossed by passing on the 'Descent of the Sternja", a steep and cobbled street, linking the upper and lower parts of the town.
South of the city, however, the face changes, leaving the vineyards and entering Cassinasco, located in the Langa Astesana, which dominates the hill with its medieval tower. Here you will find a hidden gem in the woods, the "Caffi sanctuary", witnessing an ancient miracle that still attracts numerous pilgrims from all over Italy.
In short, a 'middle ground' but with many beautiful stories and peculiarities to be discovered.

With our electric bikes we will depart from Nizza Monferrato, the main village in the area, going to discover the northern part, an area characterised by poplars, oaks, willows and other plants that are excellent for truffle hunting during the autumn.
Indeed, who knows whether we will come across any truffle hunter or, as we say in our parts, "Trifolau“!
This is also an important Monferrato geological area: in some places it is even possible to admire the incredible fossils kept in the ground, even if only by passing with our E-bikes among the vineyards!
You cannot miss then "La Court", a wonderful artistic park characterised by cypresses and installations. After a stop at the "burnt castle' of Castelnuovo Calcea, a myriad of scenic roads will bring us back to the village of Nizza, where we can spend the end of the day in the city centre and, why not, in front of a nice glass of Barbera!

From Nizza Monferrato there is another beautiful variant, this time touching the southern hills.
Vineyards as far as the eye can see, which also remind us the Langhe landscape, keep us company, up and down to the village of Alice Bel Colle and its 360° panorama offering views of the Barbera and Brachetto vineyards, an aromatic wine typical of this portion of Monferrato.
Between dirt tracks and side roads we can arrive at Maranzana, known as the land of 'babaci", puppets scattered here and there in the country.
A climb to Mombaruzzo is just what you need to taste the famous "Amaretto", local biscuit, and visit a distillery to taste some excellent 'Grappa".
We cannot skip Fontanile, an iconic village in this area thanks to its gigantic dome that overlooks the area and its murals that cover the houses in the village, making it as magical as the entire area.

Here we are off the 'classic' tourist routes, in search of the rustic and genuine Monferrato.
We begin from Cereseto which welcomes us to these hills with its imposing castle. Direction Rosignano Monferrato traversing one hill after another, with a panoramic stop on one of the famous"Big Bench' overlooking the town.
We descend and ascend to Cella Monte where we can visit the Pietra da Cantoni eco-museum and discover the reason for the wonderful colour of the stones in the area studded with fossils of all kinds.
We then pass through Olivola, tiny village inhabited by a few dozen Monferrato residents but worth at least a stop for its beautiful leaning church', and by Moleto, small hamlet with a beautiful viewpoint on Unesco Heritage.
We arrive at Grazzano Badoglio through simple dirt tracks, where it will be possible to see the "Infernot ", narrow and charming, and return to the e-bike rental via Moncalvo, the smallest city in Italy.
